Scotland on Sunday Geep and the Scary Shadows review

Heres our lastest review from Scotland on Sunday Magazine on Sunday 14th January.

GEEP AND THE SCARY SHADOWS

Gina Birch and James McAdam
What's in the Box, £13.99

One in a planned series of four books, this interactive book for children who are afraid of the dark comes with a torch to project shadow pictures onto the wall. The line drawings on clear plastic can be thrown onto a wall or ceiling, which my three-year-old thought was a great idea. Geep is a bat who looks scary enough to be able to hold his own, but he's too scared of the dark to get out there and enjoy it. With help from his friends and a torch, he's soon earning his wings alongside the other creatures of the night. Quirky illustrations are accompanied by a story that reassures youngsters who may be scared of what lurks in the shadows. With its thick card pages, Geep And The Scary Shadows is robust enough to cope with the treatment that tends to be meted out to books as part of the bedtime routine.
